VENDORS

Register as a Vendor at the International Exotic Animals Expo in Slovenia. Find exhibitor registration, prices, setup times, documentation requirements and participation rules.


IMPORTANT INFORMATION

Expo Exhibitor Registration

Before registering for the expo, each exhibitor must provide all required information and documentation. By registering the vendor confirms that he or she has read the terms and conditions and agrees to compy.


General SLO-EXO Fair Rules

All SLO-EXO exhibitors must follow the general rules of the fair.

Safety Rules

  • Opening cages or boxes of venomous animals is strictly prohibited.
  • Animals and equipment must be safely installed.
  • Attending the expo is at your own risk.
  • Smoking and entering the expo area with open drinks is forbidden.

Animal Welfare

  • It is forbidden to touch the animals.
  • It is not allowed to take animals out of cages or boxes.
  • It is not allowed to open animal cages or boxes.
  • Animals cannot be carried out of the expo without an appropriate box, such as a Styrofoam box. Appropriate boxes can be bought at the expo.

Selling Space

  • Your selling space must be nicely decorated.
  • Your selling space must not smell.
  • Bring extra light if you need it.
  • Please bring a tablecloth for your selling space.
  • It is prohibited to stack your selling space higher than 1.8 m, including the table.
  • It is prohibited to put items behind the selling table. Exceptions apply to exhibitors who rent more than 6 tables or whole islands.
  • It is prohibited to put items in front of the selling table. Exceptions apply to exhibitors who rent more than 6 tables or whole islands.

Sales Rules

  • Animals and accessories that are not presented on the selling space cannot be sold. At least one item or one species must be presented on the selling space.
  • Animals cannot be brought into the expo area after the expo has already started.
  • Selling before the expo starts is strictly prohibited.
  • Selling in front of the expo space is strictly prohibited.
  • It is not allowed to sell animals or equipment in front of the expo area.
  • Selling animals to visitors younger than 16 years is strictly prohibited.
  • Selling venomous animals to visitors younger than 18 years is strictly
  • If you attend the expo as a company, you must have a tax cashier.

Exhibitor Responsibilities

  • You must take care of your own materials, heaters, lighting, cables, and everything else you need to operate on the day of the expo.
  • In case of damage to equipment or animals, responsibility lies with the person who caused the damage.
  • If an animal escapes and causes injury, damage, or other legal consequences, responsibility lies with the person who caused the damage.
  • If there is no information about who caused the problem, damage, or other consequence, responsibility lies with the exhibitor.
  • If injury is caused by touching an animal, including allergies, bites, or similar cases, the exhibitor carries the consequences. prohibited.
  • An exhibitor who opens cages or boxes of venomous animals will be immediately excluded from the event.

Required Selling Space

When you register, you must choose the required selling space and the number of selling tables you need.

Inventory List

When registering for the expo, SLO-EXO exhibitors must fill out an inventory list. The inventory list must include all selling articles and animals, including the type and quantity.

You can update your inventory list until the expo date. Each update will appear immediately on the SLO-EXO visitors page.

Please complete your inventory list as accurately as possible before arriving at the expo. Add the information as accurately as you can. Before coming to the expo, your inventory list must be listed completely.

The inventory list will not be accepted in person at the expo.

We recommend that you also add a copy of your inventory list to your transport permit. This can help if the police stop you during transport.

In case of a veterinary inspection, the organizers will send the requested documents to the inspection authority.

Important Notice About the Inventory List

Exhibitors cannot attend the expo without an inventory list.
All animals listed on the inventory list must also be presented at the fair. At least one animal of each listed type must be displayed.
If you sell animals that are not displayed on the table, you will be excluded from the event.

Setup Times

When can I organize my presentation area?

You can prepare your exhibition space at the following times:

  • one day before the event, from 20:00 to 24:00;
  • on the day of the event, from 05:00 to 08:00.

Your exhibition space must be ready one hour before the event opens.

Animal Boxes and Cage Labelling

Animal boxes or cages must be labelled with the following information:

  • Name of the owner;
  • Latin name of the animal;
  • Breeder information;
  • Gender;
  • Status according to the CITES list, including EU Regulation 338/97, Annex A and Annex B;
  • Information about the animal’s specific nature, food, and handling;
  • Price.

We also recommend adding the expected adult size of the animal.

Animal Species That Must Be Marked

In accordance with the Rules on the Labelling of Wild Animals in Captivity, Official Gazette 58/2004, certain animal species must be marked.

This applies to species from the groups of mammals, birds, and reptiles that can be found in:

  • Annex A of Council Regulation EC No. 338/97 on the protection of species of wild fauna and flora by regulating trade;
  • Annex 1 of the Decree on protected wild animal species;
  • certain bird species;
  • annexes of Council Regulation EC No. 338/97 on the protection of wild fauna and flora;
  • some species of birds;
  • animals in Annex B of Council Regulation EC No. 338/97, if they are included in the parent group of animals in breeding.

Important Notice About Frozen Mice and Rats

Sales of frozen mice and rats as food for reptiles require special attention.
It is necessary to obtain a permit for breeding and killing animals. The rules and permissions are similar to those for slaughter animals.
If your country of origin requires special papers for selling or distributing frozen animals, you must have these documents with you.

Law on Sales

Laws governing sales by companies, individuals, and clubs are listed on the website of FURS Slovenia: Financial Administration of the Republic of Slovenia.

For Foreign EU Residents

Foreign EU residents must follow additional tax requirements before participating in SLO-EXO.

  • You must obtain a Slovenian tax number.
  • Apply for your Slovenian tax number at least three weeks before the event.
  • After that, you must obtain a tax cashier or use book-linked accounts.
  • After the fair, you must notify the Tax Administration of Slovenia about your earnings.

Declaration When Registering

By registering through the online form, you declare that:

  • you agree with the conditions, rules, and legislation concerning exotic animals in Slovenia and the European Union;
  • you will act according to the rules, guidelines, and laws that apply in Slovenia and the EU;
  • you will follow the rules of the SLO-EXO fair;
  • you will follow the laws in the field of invoicing and tax cash registers, if this applies to your business;
  • you take full responsibility for any violation of rules or laws.

For all matters not expressly mentioned in the SLO-EXO rules, the laws of the Republic of Slovenia and European regulations apply.

All conflicts will be resolved internally where possible. If this is not possible, the competent court in Maribor will resolve the conflict.
